How to Apply for Qatar Tourist Visa from UK (Ultimate Visa Guide)

Nationals of the United Kingdom do not require prior visa arrangements and can obtain a visa waiver upon arrival in Qatar.

The waiver is valid for 180 days from the date of issuance and entitles its holder to spend up to 30 days in Qatar, during either a single trip or on multiple trips.

This waiver may be extended for a further 30 days.

Travelers must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result issued within 72 hours of departure. And Health declaration form which you can obtain at VisaHQ.

Without evidence of test and health form, passengers will be denied boarding.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements can vary depending on the type of visa you are granted.

People from other countries should check their own entry requirements.

The authorities in Qatar set and enforce entry rules for all visitors to the country. If you are a citizen of another country, your passport is required to enter Qatar.

Qatar has been a safe country for visitors for many years now. It is also a signatory to the WHO’s International Health Regulations, so it is a duty of the Qatari government to ensure the health and safety of all its citizens and visitors.

Visitors who hold either the NHS UK COVID Pass app or the EU COVPass app (the EU digital COVID Certificate) are exempt from the requirement to pre register.

Visitors should also download the Ehteraz app and activate this on arrival, through the use of either a local or international sim card.

If you are a British national and have a valid Qatari residence permit, you do not need to apply for a visa for the UK or the Schengen area.

You do not need to apply for a visa to travel to the UK from Schengen countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and the Netherlands.

It is the responsibility of every traveller to ensure they are fully aware of the requirements for entering and exiting Qatar.

If you are traveling from a country where your smartphone is not compatible with the local network, you can download the Qatar Ehteraz App to access public transport and other services.

If You’re Transiting Through Qatar

Transiting is allowed without the need to obtain a visa from any country. This applies to all countries.

If you are a transit passenger, you do not need a visa if you transit through Qatar. It is only when you enter a different country that you may need a visa.

The transit hotel is recommended if you want to spend more than 24 hours in Qatar.

Travelers can not remain in the transit area for more than 24 hours between flights, regardless of whether you are using the transit hotel within the airport.

Further information about transiting through Qatar can be found on the webpage for Hamad International Airport.
